These dog stairs work great for our puppies. I love that the textured stair topper is option but we have it on since our dogs don’t like smooth surfaces on stairs. I bought the 6-step ramp because we have a very high bed, and we wanted our dog to get used to using this before he gets to a point when jumping up and down will be difficult. This seems to be a very high quality item. Though it comes with no assembly instructions, we were able to figure it out easily enough. I was worried my beagle would tear it apart the way he has ruined other pillows and beds with foam inserts, this does not seem to have an offensive smell. I like these dogs ramps, and love that they came in a set of two. We have an older dog that has a hard time with the bottom step of our basement stairs, because it is higher than the other stairs. She also has a hard time getting started up the steps to our RV when camping and the ground is uneven. They were easy to put together and are lightweight and portable.
