This is a very small pan, which is exactly what I wanted. My go to pan was Farberware, and it is over 20 years old, horrible condition as it will not even fry an egg without sticking now. We are great cooks in this house and somehow we can still make our old pans work. BUT....This Viking pan is next level amazing. I see why its so expensive. It is heavy like a cast iron pan and I love love love that!! I cooked an egg in it without using any oil. Now I am obsessing and want a whole set. I just have to figure out a way to explain to my husband why we need 600 pots and pans lol. Maybe I can compare my pots and pans to some of those high end tools he has in the garage lol. The Demeyere Belgian Steel Frying Pan is an excellent cooking utensil. The handle is long and stays cool so handling the pan is easy and safe. Best pan, bought to get away from non stick dangerous chemicals, only caveat is you need to heat the pan for about 3 minutes first so food won’t stick, however it gives time to chop food or bring out your ingredients. I am very impressed by this beautiful pan. The size is perfect but finding a lid to fit has become challenging. I haven't used it yet but read the instructions and even googled more instructions on how to cook with it. I'm sure it will be good. My first piece and will add to it a little at a time. It heats up evenly and food sticks less to it than my other stainless steel pans so I prefer to use it over those. The picture is after four rounds of smaller pancakes made in the pan with only one application of olive oil, whereas my other pans I had to keep adding oil or butter or it’s definitely going to stick. The handle is attached only on the outside and after having this option, I don’t know why all pans don’t do this. Had to replace the old copper bottom fry pan when the handle broke. That won’t happen to the new one with a full stainless handle.
