One other consideration: the handrails screw on in a fixed position...not really "removable" w/o removing 4 screws. I bought this ladder, following falling off a stepstool with two steps. I was trying to clean the top of the refrigerator. It wasn’t quite high enough and then when I was coming down my foot missed the step and I went for a good tumble on the floor, it was then I researched safe ladders for the kitchen.I found this one in my search and I’m very happy with it. I feel secure with the handrails I was able to safely get to the third step which allowed me not only to clean the top of the refrigerator but the cabinet over the overhead microwave.It is light weight and the easiest ladder to open and close it even matches my kitchen color scheme.
