Applied to a ceiling, Lacunaria calls to mind the richly coffered ceilings of McKim, Mead, and White. Crisscrossing beams and stylized florets add a delicate flourish. Lacunaria not only adds architectural detail and an illusion of depth where it might be lacking but also an element of whimsy that keeps things fun and fresh.

The wall paper was made by distinctive wall paper company, I was disappointed to receive this beautiful design wall paper. It was quite expensive over $ 500 per roll of 27’ long. The background came in more yellow than photo shown and the highlights of second or third screen was too dark and too green as it appears that the second and third screens were made for the pattern of the different color ( # 1 instead of # 3, Stone, that I picked up). A composition of several drawings of sleepers, including French novelist and poet, Raymond Radiguet in 1922, encompasses Les Les Dormeurs. This all-over motif is printed as a monochrome toile de Jouy. The toile de Jouy represents traditional everyday scenes, specifically, “Les Dormeurs” which suggests a languorous daily life of which Jean Cocteau was adept. He always said, “dreams are the literature of sleep.”
