I purchased an oversized stand for my 40 gallon tank and decided on getting one for the 55-75 gallon tank size. Mainly for stability but also just like the way it looks. I have the barn style TV stand and end table. So it matches the rest of my furniture. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. This has worked well for us. Way to out together and produces a great compost. One thing to note is that the compost can rest on the bottom ledge inside which can make it difficult to open the doors.
