After reading the comments, we decided to hire the (Wayfair) professional assembly service, which turned out to be totally worth it and the right decision. The wood used is incredibly very solid; this is a simple styl, yet very robust and durable sofa bed. We have bought too much assembly-required furniture online, mostly from overseas brands, that upon close inspection had poorly finished paint or felt light and fragile, as if it could easily break under pressure. Our futon arrived on the exact day they said it would. It was fairly easy to assemble and seems to be of good sound quality. I wish the mattress was just a bit thicker but it’s quite comfortable to sit on. We plan to use it as a bed when guests come hence my wishing the mattress was just a little bit thicker. Super heavy Difficult to move from room to room as it doesn’t lock in either position well and is very heavy. Also difficult to to transition from couch to bed positions, (However I am used to doing things myself as I live alone). Doable for two people, but still difficult.
