More solid than others we've seen. The wood is decent quality, and the whole bed feels very secure. A bit of a chore to put together, but just in time and effort, rather than intricacy or difficulty. Probably a 45-minute job for 2 people. Watch your knees on the footboard, the knobs are just at the right height to give a six-footer a painful knock right inside the kneecap if you're not careful (or not watching, like me!). I would have loved to give this bed 5 stars, but for two reasons I could not. First, the legs are not even. I followed the directions to a T and there is definitely uneven legs.
