I purchased the LG LDTS5552S dishwasher and have experienced a persistent chemical odor since the beginning of ownership. The smell is difficult to describe precisely, but it resembles heated rubber, vinyl, petroleum products, or synthetic plastic. The odor becomes stronger as the dishwasher heats up and appears to be emitted from the lower vent area. The problem occurs even during normal operation without using the High Temp or Extra Dry settings. Over the past year I have tried numerous troubleshooting steps, including cleaning the filters repeatedly, running cycles without detergent, using dishwasher cleaning cycles, and removing additional plastic accessories from inside the machine. None of these actions resolved the issue. The dishes themselves do not retain the odor, but the heated air emitted by the dishwasher does. The smell is strong enough to travel beyond the kitchen and can sometimes be noticed on the second floor of the house. After more than a year of trying to live with this issue, I have stopped using the dishwasher altogether and returned to washing dishes by hand because I am not comfortable having my family continuously exposed to the odor. What concerns me most is that this odor appears whenever the appliance is heated, suggesting that materials inside the unit may be releasing volatile compounds into the air. I do not know whether LG has evaluated the long-term impact of breathing these emissions during routine daily use, but I believe this is a legitimate concern that deserves attention. I am disappointed because otherwise the dishwasher performs well. If LG is aware of this issue or has a solution, I would genuinely appreciate a response. I’ve owned the fridge for about 3 weeks and it is a solid upgrade. PROS: It looks great and elevates the look of the kitchen to gourmet. The water/filter quality is top tier and the auto sense fill feature saves time when filling up a glass or a measuring cup. And of course it chills and freezes nicely with features that boost the capability for special circumstances such as installation or recovering from a power outage. CONS. It’s missing a few “normal folks” features that I’ve enjoyed over the years and that I would expect for the cost. 1. It is massive and takes 4-6 people to deliver it; annotate that during delivery or they won’t send enough people to get it off the truck. Also, installation and haul away aren’t included. Be prepared to pay a few hundred extra. 2. The door isn't magnetized - so it won’t hold a magnet. 3. I’ve grown to hate appliances with overly complicated computers in them. They constantly break and never work well. I love that this stove only has the features you need for cooking. The burners work very well and are true to the temperatures you select. I used to have Cafe ranges and they all would get way too hot and were more difficult to control. This Kucht range is more true and is much easier to cook with. You can still get things scorching hot if you want, but you can also gently simmer. One thing I don’t like is that the broiler is only down the center of the oven. I often finish dishes off under the broiler to get things browned quickly on top. The broiler feature will only work on things near the center so you can’t get an even broil over a casserole for instance. Thankfully I have a second oven or this would be a big issue for me. The other slight issue is that parts of the exterior get quite warm when the oven on. Especially near the bottom. Not great when young kids are in the house. So far, so good. We wanted a 48” built-in fridge to replace our 24-year-old GE Monogram. Looked for one with size and reliability being most important. Did not want bells & whistles, so this one was as close as we could get. Wish we could have purchased it without the huge ice maker that we very rarely use and without internet connectivity. Shelves are a tiny bit less deep than the last refrigerator, but it’s not too much of a problem. It’s working, keeps the food safe, and is very attractive. We couldn’t be happier with the Café 23.2 cu. ft. Smart Counter-Depth 4-Door French-Door Refrigerator. For a counter-depth model, the capacity is impressively efficient. The layout makes excellent use of space, and despite being 23.2 cu. ft., it easily holds everything we need without feeling cramped. The four-door configuration is a standout. The middle drawer is extremely versatile and quickly became one of our most-used features, perfect for drinks, snacks, or frequently accessed items. Both the refrigerator and freezer sections are well organized and easy to navigate. The dual-dispense AutoFill water pitcher is another highlight. Having filtered water ready to grab from the fridge is incredibly convenient, and the auto-fill feature works reliably. The dispenser is fast and easy to use while maintaining a clean, integrated look. Being ENERGY STAR certified gives us confidence in its efficiency, and it runs quietly while maintaining consistent temperatures. The smart features are well executed too. amazing! We love our new range!! It was thousands less than others that we looked at. I called our Appliance Repair man prior to purchasing… Just to ensure that I would have someone local to help. Should anything go wrong. They were familiar with the brand and we purchased in confidence. The oven seems to need a tiny calibration… And even on convection, it heats a little unevenly. But considering how gorgeous this is and how well all of the burners work… We have absolutely no complaints!
