You need at least two people to balance it all to put together. The front two feet down lay flush to the ground. If you move the brace down just a few centimeters it would support it. In general they look nice have a high back. I am a wee bit concerned on weight limit as my husband is 210 and he says he feels it under him. You can either pull it out or push it under the seat that it is attached to. Each of the armrests have a feature too. There are self storing cup holders on each, One features a holder for a stemmed glass. The other holder is round and made for a standard can, bottle, or cup to fit perfectly. There are five colors of weather resistant finishes to choose from. Even without a cushion this chair is very comfortable. The assembly went very smoothly and can be accomplished by one person in less than an hour. This is a very sturdy well made item. All of the moving parts work very smoothly. It was easy enough to assemble, but it really helps to have two people. Our complaints are 1) that we have to fuss with the ottomans a little to pull them out, and 2) that it is difficult to move the chairs--they are heavy and all the moving parts move as the chair is being moved. I was really concerned about what I was going to receive based on some of the reviews. Needless to say, my husband and I were extremely happy with the quality, size, ease of assembly. Well machined, every part fit together like a glove. They are not child sized as someone wrote in their review. My husband is 6ft, 170lbs and he fits in it with room to spare, as do I. Nice! These HIPS reclining Adirondack chairs with footrests look great, we’re pretty easy to assemble, and feel very comfortable. They’re lightweight enough to move without too much trouble, but heavy enough to stay put. They have a wonderful beach vibe and are great for relaxing. VERY comfortable and great quality. The front edge of the seat is a little sharp but my wife is only 5’2”. At 5’7” I have no problems. Nice and sturdy but if you plan to move it around frequently it is a giant pain because it is very heavy and the arms and back move easily. That’s kind of the nature of it though so it’s to be expected. I recommend even just a thin cushion to be the Cadillac of Adirondack chairs. Definitely would purchase again. Lauren. Nashua, NH.
