Been using the 20x25x4 for multiple years now. Filters work great, I replace mine every 90 days in my house. Never had any issues or concerns about quality or construction of the filters. I've seen many complaints about the 1" thick filters and while I understand their concerns; a 1" thick filter is old technology and should consider getting a larger filter box. I find the complaints about the tabs holding the pleats in the filter where you may have to push a few back trivial. You're buying a MERV 11 equivalent disposable filter, again DISPOSABLE. It wasn't long ago when everyone was just using the blue fiberglass air filters.. There is a balance between retail cost and manufacturing cost. We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking.
