I chose this filing cabinet for its size (4 drawer, lateral) and also for its color (red). All around I am very satisfied. I asked it to be delivered to the room I need it in. Wayfair is very good in keeping one informed of the ship date and ship time. The day of the delivery I received a text that the drivers were approx. 30 min out. Both wore their face masks and were very conscientious about safe distance. They placed the filing cabinet where I asked it to be placed. It is now sitting at its spot and is looking good. I was hesitant to purchase this file cabinet because of some of the reviews that cited poor packaging and damage to the cabinet. I am happy to report that the two-drawer, silver cabinet (MADE in the USA and already assembled!!!) was delivered in perfect condition and after figuring out how and where to place the hanging folder frames (included in the file drawers) and the cross bars (purchased separately thru Wayfair and described as the Hirsch Lateral Front to Back Rail Kit), I REALLY glad that I decided to buy this file cabinet. I am using the drawers for front-to-back, LETTER-sized hanging files. Because of the width of the cabinet, I used 2 cross bars in each drawer, which leaves about 6"of extra space in each drawer. This space cannot be used to put LEGAL-sized hanging file because the hanging folder frames are too far apart because of the positioning used to accommodate the letter-sized front-to-back hanging files. This is not a problem for me and the positioning can always be changed, if desired. You could use legal-size hanging files from front-to-back and there would be no extra space on each side. The cabinet is very sturdy, but I am going to purchase a piece of clear plastic to put on the top of the cabinet to prevent scratches. You can definitely place something on the top because the steel is very strong. There are 2 front gliders that can be adjusted to level the cabinet. There are 2 keys to lock the cabinet, and I am happy to report I can keep them in the cabinet until ready to use because this is not a push-in lock (thank goodness); you must lock it with the key, so it cannot be accidentally locked with the keys inside (which happened to me with my kids and another file cabinet). Ordered 2 at once. One arrived from New Jersey (?) in perfect condition, but the second shipped from TX never arrived. Customer service has been perfectly helpful for all FIVE (?) calls. A replacement (from TX) was ordered and arrived not boxed with corner protectors/top and bottom cardboard pieces completely damaged and unusable. A second replacement came (from TX) and arrived in even worse condition (both tops had screws missing and screw holes stripped so won't stay on with screws provided, cracks on all sides, dents, etc.). I asked for a return label so whomever can inspect and see how badly damaged they are coming from TX. Third replacement sent from New Jersey or maybe Virginia- I cannot remember. Arrived in perfect condition like the first did. Customer service could not be better, but I'd call to order this piece with customer service and beg that it comes NOT from Texas. Love the two working ones and recommend 100%... again, if not arriving from Texas! I'm sharing damaged photos of last one sent, but not of two we kept, b/c they fit description perfectly.. Christina. Arrived in perfect condition, which I was a little worked about based on prior reviews. The price was a little high, but it serves me very well. I like that the top two drawers are not super deep so office supplies can stay at one level. Installation of wheels was very quick--the two locking casters go up front and the regular swiveling casters go in the back. Each wheel slides into a track, and a provided screwdriver fits into a slot on the adjacent metal tab that then gets bent upward to secure the wheel in its place. The final guide caster fits into the center of the bottom drawer and is held in place with a little black nut that pops in from the inside of the drawer. Hope that helps anyone who had trouble with the diagram! The filing section can fit letter-sized hanging file folders oriented either parallel or perpendicular to the drawer with the provided adjustable rod. A great little piece for the office!. Ch. Our new file cabinets are beautiful! I purchased two of them to hold my music. We wanted them to look like furniture, and couldn't be happier with the outcome. They are sturdy as well as practical. Each drawer can hold letter or legal size files. Our maintenance person assembled them for us. We wouldn't have been able to do that ourselves. He bolted them to the wall for extra security.
