To keep the genuine rustic look of this product we use reclaimed wood and we're always sure to make sure the surfaces are sanded as smooth and splinter-free as possible. Please keep in mind that no two pieces will look the same and the natural wood color will vary in shade, texture, and tone (some grayer and some browner). This is the result of natural wood weathering. Also, please keep in mind that old nail holes, knot holes, and cracks are a part of what adds character to these one-of-a-kind pieces and can be expected.

This is real wood. It has a light stain and no varnish, so it has that rustic farmhouse feel to it. The drawers don’t have tracks so they wobble when you pull them in and out, but I don’t plan to use them much. Perfect size for behind my couch. The assembly was a bit tricky. They provide self-tapping screws so there are no pilot holes. That means you have to line the pieces up perfectly while screwing in teh screw. Sometimes there is also a dowel in a predrilled hole making it easy to keep the wood in place while you get the screw in. Other times - esp the drawers - you have to hold the two pieces of wood carefully while you press hard to get the screw started. Also, some sections of the wood are softer and easy to get a screw through. Others are a bit harder. Other than assembly, I have no complaints. It’s a sturdy little table for the price.. Rachel. This is a lovely piece to compliment an empty wall space. However, there are a few things we were a little disappointed with. The instructions say it's easy to put together, and should be done in an hour. Maybe for the professionals. For my husband, and I (yes you do need 2 people to assemble), it took over two hours. The instructions are all in pictures, and no words so while it was easy to figure out what went where, we still had to double check we were using the correct amount of hardware for each piece. We assumed it was only for pieces to put together. Not the case- it's more than 4, less than 20. Also usually furniture comes with 'caps' to lay over the screws so it looks finished. There were no 'caps' included. So while the end product is quite lovely, we will be very careful if we order again since we do not want to have to put anything together.
