We purchased this for a new home build that had a slide in range in an island. We did not want an exhaust hood that hung down from the ceiling and this one was perfect for a flush mount in the ceiling. It was priced considerably less than other brands that had white glass finishes. There are a couple discoveries we made however. It did not turn on once the power was brought to the new build. We called Awoco and were told to check in the black box under the stainless grill, for a white connection that sometimes is disconnected. That solved the problem and the unit lit up and worked with the remote and the voice commands. Customer service was very helpful and seemed to know exactly what to look for. There is one other thing to be aware of with the voice command, occasionally it picks up what it believes to be a request for action and starts talking, asking for directions. We thought we were hearing voices until we realized it was the exhaust fan talking. We had our contractor install two of these heaters with the covered patio extension we built last spring. Unit is defective from manufacturer. Contractor installed and the hood will not raise up. I know electrical controls pretty well and after doing some troubleshooting the button to raise the hood gets no power from the board and the fuse is in good condition. Hope it gets fixed quickly.. I had used this type of air conditioner at an Air BnB and really like it, this was main reason for ordering this one and it is great. I especially like that it is a converter unit and can be used year-round for cooling in the summer and for heat in the winter. The greatest advantage, I think is the savings on your electric bill from not having to cool the entire house. The inverter option is great for any place with short winters for the same reason noted above, no furnace needed! I heat up a room for the cold hours of the night and that’s it. The remote control is a must, but it works great with the thermostat so I just set the temperature I like and that’s it! The room stays at a comfortable temperature. My husband was able to do most of the installation. It was relatively easy to install the unit on the wall with parts that are included, we only had a certified electrician do the the connection and final install of the unit.
