I searched forever for an affordable 6 burner gas stove top. Here it is. Upon first installation we had a few issues. 1st was the smell of gas. Had it checked and there was no leak it is the just the smell of the materials used to make it. It was very strong at first. Next issue was that the burners all were set at max power. We had to contact customer service to get a special tool to adjust the burner flames. So everything was burning even on its lowest setting which is another thing Im not crazy about. Out of the box, this griddle will NOT fit a Prestige 450, but I found it was easily altered to fit. As it is designed to fit the larger surface area of a Prestige 500, the rear spacer needs 1/4” cut off each side, and a small notch cut (see attached photos). The griddle is also too large front to back, but a couple of self-tapping screws along the back edge and inside the front lip of the barbecue prevent any movement. This griddle is really well made. Being stainless steel, there’s no seasoning needed - just clean with water after use to steam clean any food residue off. The two side tables are a great addition-they provide convenient prep space and make grilling more organized and enjoyable. Once assembled, the grill feels stable and heats evenly. That said, the assembly process was by far the most frustrating part of this purchase. The instructions were unclear and poorly organized, which made it difficult to understand the correct order of steps. None of the parts were labeled, so a lot of time was spent matching pieces to the diagrams and second-guessing whether things were aligned correctly. What should have been a straightforward build turned into a four-hour project. While Im happy with the grills performance now that its assembled, be prepared for a challenging setup process.
