It works for holding single LP's. It is roomy enough inside the frame to hold an album with a sleeve and the magnet used to keep the lid on seems strong enough, but it isn't super strong so you need to make sure nothing is caught while closing the frame. These are pretty nice to hold some of our albums. We got these to temporarily hold some while we search for one that holds 250(+-). The ones I liked were not in stock so we keep looking and/or wait. A bit difficult to put together but everything finally came together well. I would suggest to get someone to help put this together—It takes two to tango. Once put together It does look good. Records and books are on the shelves, and I have art pieces sitting on the top of the bookshelf. So it seems steady and that it will last over the coming years.
