Works well for my 92-year-old dad, although his bed is adjustable, I looped the strap around the base of the bed board, and the rail does moves with the motion of the bed however it is still secure enough to stay in place. and sturdy enough for my dad to pull himself up and out of the bed I adjusted the legs high enough so that they don't touch the floor while moving.. This is a God send! My mom has mobility issues and this ramp has made a huge difference in her independence and confidence. She's using a walker and her first words were 'Stairs won't stop me now'. Made my heart smile!! Only 4 stars only because on the directions were very sparse. The diagrams didn't make the ramp I bought. It didn't even list the number of items you should have - bolts, washers, nuts, etc. You had to just hope you had the right number. Thank goodness I did. I had a friend come help finish it up and mount it. Took probably about 2.5 hours. Not hard, just double checking it was done right since directions were not clear.
