TRIM KIT: You need it for built-in install (old one will not fit new microwave) BUT it is a piece of junk AND a bad install compared to old product. It’s cheap thin plastic (“stainless steel” coating, not metal) & screws were too short for attaching trim plate to microwave & aluminum screws would not adhere to screwdriver blade to guide screw into hole. It took over an hour to put in 4 screws - STUPID engineering! CONCLUSION: I hope microwave is better quality than trim plate. Microwave is about half the weight of the old GE Profile, Trim Plate was about 10% of the weight of the old one. New trim plate is cheap plastic, waaaay overpriced!. Greenmustang. Houston, TX.
