I was not sure whether it would work for my cats or not so it was good enough size and price for me to give it a try. I needed one with open bottom because my cats eat our grass. For that reason, I searched and searched until I found this one. the bottom slats are movable with this one. It works for us. It also looks pretty cute and leaving it on our front yard is not an eye sore. It is not hard to put together but you need to pay attention to put the right pieces in right places. My husband I just assembled the cat house for a feral cat that lives along a ravine behind our backyard. She had kittens a few weeks ago and we are feeding her well. We don’t know where the kittens are. Probably under someone’s shed. We are anticipating her to bring the kittens to eat when she is weaning them. Our goal is to trap them all together and get them spayed, neutered and their shots. We don’t have any structures in our backyard so I bought this for her so that when it rains she can still come and eat. I’m praying that the raccoons, possums and other stray cats leave it alone. It was easy and quick to assemble with the two of us. Everything was labeled well and instructions were simple. It is not a real heavy structure so we are going to put anchors in the ground and put straps on it to prevent it from flying away in high winds. We put it on bocks to lift it from getting saturated when heavy rains arrive. We live in Tampa where it is very dry right now, but rainy season will soon be upon us. This catio is fantastic! Much bigger than I expected and the quality is amazing. It is sturdy but in Yuma Arizona the winds can be hard so I used cement blocks to help keep it in place as a precaution. The only thing that I think needs improvement is the locks on the front doors. I am adding an eye hook for double security but thats an easy fix. It was easy to put together (my brother did it for me because why not ).
