Urethane faux wood shutters stay true to authentic wood by not only having a wood grain, but also by having the ability to be either gel-stained or painted. Longevity of this faux wood material is priceless, without sacrificing the real wood appearance of the shutters.

Purchased the Riverwood style. Painted them but have not installed yet. They arrived primed, but primer is tacky…sticky. I have had to put 2 heavy coats of paint on them. Still painting…waiting for paint coats to dry and not be sticky either. Only concern is the shutters are not as sturdy as I expected (why the 4 stars) and hoping during installation they will not be damaged. Amazing...I grappled with buying these columns for 2 years, because of the non-refundable policy, so I had to be sure. I have a small porch so I knew I couldnt get the columns to wide or the proportions would look odd. So I used makeshift cardboard and the like to determine what to buy...I made the best decision with the 5.63 width columns they look amazing. My contractor bought 5 wood post from our local big box store and used brackets to install them on the porch. He used his nail gun to fasten each wrap to the wood post, he said it was rather simple to install. Next he caulked all the small nail gun holes and painted ( per instructions for winter protection) looks amazing. I am very pleased with these wall panels. I was a little hesitant to purchase something so long, and thin enough to perhaps be damaged in shipping. But every piece was in perfect condition. I bought the alder, which was easy for me to cut with a Japanese style hand saw. Another reviewer mentioned the black charring on the sides, and yes that was a pain because it got all over my hands and on the wall as I was leaning the boards up to visualize. I washed it off as best as I could, then primed and painted. Seems as though the black edging would be a problem if I was just staining or keeping natural. Painting has worked for me though, as did construction adhesive with no nailing required. These wall panels have really jazzed up my entryway and I'm very satisfied with the purchase.. Karen.
