I was a little hesitant to spend the hefty price on these shutters being that you can spend a fraction of the price for cookie cutter shutters at a big box store. However, I wanted something different than the 100's of other homes on the block. I'm happy to say, that I am very pleased with the end result. I ended up purchasing the "primed" shutters and selected my own exterior paint color to use on these. I was a bit annoyed that no mounting hardware is included, so I ended up using deck screws and cement anchors into the brick mortar. Then used 3/8" mushroom caps to plug the holes. I did not want a permanent plug because I may wat to take them down and repaint them at some point. Pros: -solid construction, not hollow like general store bought shutters. -painted well over the primer -unique design Cons -expensive -does not come with mounting hardware. Chris. Urethane faux wood shutters stay true to authentic wood by not only having a wood grain, but also by having the ability to be either gel-stained or painted. Longevity of this faux wood material is priceless, without sacrificing the real wood appearance of the shutters.

Purchased the Riverwood style. Painted them but have not installed yet. They arrived primed, but primer is tacky…sticky. I have had to put 2 heavy coats of paint on them. Still painting…waiting for paint coats to dry and not be sticky either. Only concern is the shutters are not as sturdy as I expected (why the 4 stars) and hoping during installation they will not be damaged. Beautiful high quality shutters that I could not find anywhere else. Do be warned that production and delivery take a long time due to each shutter being cut to your custom measurements. Amazing...I grappled with buying these columns for 2 years, because of the non-refundable policy, so I had to be sure. I have a small porch so I knew I couldnt get the columns to wide or the proportions would look odd. So I used makeshift cardboard and the like to determine what to buy...I made the best decision with the 5.63 width columns they look amazing. My contractor bought 5 wood post from our local big box store and used brackets to install them on the porch. He used his nail gun to fasten each wrap to the wood post, he said it was rather simple to install. Next he caulked all the small nail gun holes and painted ( per instructions for winter protection) looks amazing.
