Beautiful high quality shutters that I could not find anywhere else. Do be warned that production and delivery take a long time due to each shutter being cut to your custom measurements. The manufacturer’s helpline was excellent and they helped me track the shipment statuses and talk through installation process with one of their product specialists. Amazing...I grappled with buying these columns for 2 years, because of the non-refundable policy, so I had to be sure. I have a small porch so I knew I couldnt get the columns to wide or the proportions would look odd. So I used makeshift cardboard and the like to determine what to buy...I made the best decision with the 5.63 width columns they look amazing. My contractor bought 5 wood post from our local big box store and used brackets to install them on the porch. He used his nail gun to fasten each wrap to the wood post, he said it was rather simple to install. Next he caulked all the small nail gun holes and painted ( per instructions for winter protection) looks amazing. I was a little hesitant to spend the hefty price on these shutters being that you can spend a fraction of the price for cookie cutter shutters at a big box store. However, I wanted something different than the 100's of other homes on the block. I'm happy to say, that I am very pleased with the end result. I ended up purchasing the "primed" shutters and selected my own exterior paint color to use on these. I was a bit annoyed that no mounting hardware is included, so I ended up using deck screws and cement anchors into the brick mortar. Then used 3/8" mushroom caps to plug the holes. I did not want a permanent plug because I may wat to take them down and repaint them at some point. Pros: -solid construction, not hollow like general store bought shutters. -painted well over the primer -unique design Cons -expensive -does not come with mounting hardware. Chris.
