Bought the primed functional half round gable vent, and am happy with the solid construction. Before painting needed to remove the insect screen, which was stapled to the back, to avoid getting paint on the screen. Also needed to sand some edges due to wood splinters and one slat which had a significant raised grain pattern. Reattached the screen with brass nails as the staples were unusable.. Caroline B. Amazing...I grappled with buying these columns for 2 years, because of the non-refundable policy, so I had to be sure. I have a small porch so I knew I couldnt get the columns to wide or the proportions would look odd. So I used makeshift cardboard and the like to determine what to buy...I made the best decision with the 5.63 width columns they look amazing. My contractor bought 5 wood post from our local big box store and used brackets to install them on the porch. He used his nail gun to fasten each wrap to the wood post, he said it was rather simple to install. Next he caulked all the small nail gun holes and painted ( per instructions for winter protection) looks amazing.
