Gable vents work to provide ventilation, releasing stagnant air, preventing damage from humidity, and optimizing temperature control. Gable vents are particularly useful during the summer months when hot air rises and is trapped in the attic, where it can transfer itself down through the ceiling and back into the level below, decreasing the effectiveness of air conditioning systems A gable vent is located at the attic area, commonly on the exterior wall where the two planes of a sloping roof join, forming a triangle. The gable can be any symmetrical shape, but the triangle is among the most common. Other vent shapes include rectangles, steeples, circles, and octagons. Gable vents are fitted with horizontal ventilation slats called louvers. You can add a mesh screen to be placed behind the vent. This allows air to circulate while keeping outside elements where they belong. A gable mounted ventilator helps to push air through the louvers. The ventilator removes air from the attic through the use of turbines or fans. The gable ventilator commonly requires no carpentry, as it is mounted on the interior of the wall behind the gable, however, electrical installation is required.

Beautiful! I put them in a doorway in my apartment. I mounted them with Command strips. I did have to put a smear of E6000 glue on the spot where the strips went and let that dry first as the edges that go against the wall are a little porous and the strips wouldn’t stick. Really good variety for sizes, and I feel that this design is classic and understated. The construction of this product could be way better though. It is difficult to put a hollow corbel - and most of the are for decorative use, not going over a supporting wooden beam or anything. It would be nice to have at least some backing. Also, there are noticeable (but tiny) cracks between some of the layers on the front of some product, not all. These are pretty. A little strange the base color (blue) was speckled looking. The shipping was less than desirable. They did not arrive in time to be painted by my painters. The ETA changed a lot. I ordered the San Miguel Shutters and the shutter lol. I love the shutters. The Starless night color is a navy blue. It is hard to tell in the photos. I really want them to be darker . I didnt want black. The shutters complimented the style of our home in 2 ways. The ark of the entry and the design of the front door go with the shutters. I didnt want run of the mill from the big box stores. Everything I purchased from Wayfair is different from the run of the mill like our amazing Garage lights and entry light. I love Wayfair. These corbels work well for our mantel situation, although for my personal taste, I wish they were a bit less detailed. They are exactly as advertised. I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted in the right size, and these will work until I do. Our mantel needed to have a bit more “heft”, and this seemed like a good way to get that. They are super light-weight, obviously not made of real wood, but because they are painted, you can’t tell that. And with there being so light, they are pretty much trouble free to install.
