We built a new home in 2020-2021 (quite an experience with the supply problem) and used five beams in the living room. They were easy to install but we had a few places where we had to touch up the cut areas. We called them and because we didnt have time to wait for the touch up kits they told us what color and kind of stain to get. It turned out fine but I wish we had known about the touch up kits beforehand. As soon as the scaffolding was taken away we forgot where the touch ups were. Urethane faux wood shutters stay true to authentic wood by not only having a wood grain, but also by having the ability to be either gel-stained or painted. Longevity of this faux wood material is priceless, without sacrificing the real wood appearance of the shutters.

Purchased the Riverwood style. Painted them but have not installed yet. They arrived primed, but primer is tacky…sticky. I have had to put 2 heavy coats of paint on them. Still painting…waiting for paint coats to dry and not be sticky either. Only concern is the shutters are not as sturdy as I expected (why the 4 stars) and hoping during installation they will not be damaged.
