This was one of my favorite projects in my new home remodel. I always loved a jewel box powder room and I think it came out FANTASTIC. Easy installation but I had to use a hardcore primary to get a smooth finish. Don't like the smell it leaves behind for a few days but if you want a smooth finish you need it. Love these! Wanted to jazz up my wall, a bit. It all started, when I decided I wanted to cover up the wallpaper seams that started looking more prominent. Went with the Walnut color, and they were beautiful out of the box, so I didnt want to paint or stain over them. Have a few left, so I might try and get a little more creative with some going in another direction. Havent gotten that far yet. They were super easy to cut, with a Japanese saw, and I opted to just use a brad nailer, without glue, if in the future I decide to change it up. I can hopefully pry them off easily.. Jennifer N.. This product was easy to apply and looks fantastic. Unfortunately ours came with black edges, so there's a black substance that wipes off. You'll need to wipe every one off thouroughly to rub off the black. We applied in a bedroom behind a bed, so it looked FANTASTIC, but we continue to get black on hands and bedding. I am very pleased with these wall panels. I was a little hesitant to purchase something so long, and thin enough to perhaps be damaged in shipping. But every piece was in perfect condition. I bought the alder, which was easy for me to cut with a Japanese style hand saw. Another reviewer mentioned the black charring on the sides, and yes that was a pain because it got all over my hands and on the wall as I was leaning the boards up to visualize. I washed it off as best as I could, then primed and painted. Seems as though the black edging would be a problem if I was just staining or keeping natural. Painting has worked for me though, as did construction adhesive with no nailing required. These wall panels have really jazzed up my entryway and I'm very satisfied with the purchase.. Karen. Purchased the Riverwood style. Painted them but have not installed yet. They arrived primed, but primer is tacky…sticky. I have had to put 2 heavy coats of paint on them. Still painting…waiting for paint coats to dry and not be sticky either. Only concern is the shutters are not as sturdy as I expected (why the 4 stars) and hoping during installation they will not be damaged.
