For the price of this furniture, I expect better quality. I still have two chairs to put together, and I am seriously dreading it. I'll find the right drill bit and try that. Three things to be aware of: (1) Many of the pre-drilled holes weren't drilled all the way through, so we had to drill them ourselves; (2) You need your own specialized tools (like a drill with a certain-sized square drill bit & two different size sockets); and (3) At least for us, the box arrived extremely damaged, with holes in the box.
