The LG dehumidifier works quite well. It's modern-looking, has a customizable humidity setting and a sensor that turns off the unit once the desired humidity level has been reached. It also senses when the bucket is full and when to clean the filter which is very easy to do. Nice little frig for all practical purposes. However the description is a little different from what the directions manual states. For example description says it can be slid under a counter top. Yet the directions say to leave 4 inches behind the unit for air flow. So it’s seems the unit would stick out from a typical counter depth. The instruction manual also talks about the need to defrost which was unexpected. We are keeping it anyway as will use to store a few waters and drinks in another room outside the kitchen. Looks pretty good and was very easy to set up. Doesn’t come with batteries, that was a bit annoying. Reasons for not giving a 5 it’s not as smart as other trash cans I’ve used where if you open it and it senses that you’re still emptying something, it will stay open. This one just closes after the number of seconds, on top of your hands. You can keep it open but you have to push the Open thing and then it doesn’t close automatically, you have to push Close to close it. This dehumidifier keeps my 700 sq foot apartment humidity levels below 50% -- if not on, the humidity climbs to the high 70s! It's not very loud--just a little white noise in the background that doesn't interfere with TV, music, conversations, etc. I do have to empty the tank every day (sometimes 2x), but it's easy to take out and dump in my sink so not a problem. My previous dehumidifier was the smaller version and ran continuously for almost a year, but then stopped working. I was refunded the amount I paid for that one, and in turn bought this one. This is a nice compact dehumidifier. It's sturdy and heavy but doesn't take up too much space. The wheels and handle are great for mobility. One of the best things about it is how quiet it is in operation. For a commercial dehumidifier, the sound is very low. I don't have the ability to fully comment on it's effectiveness yet but can say that the reading changed rather quickly with a short test try.
