Had we gone with the 13" we wouldn't have to touch up paint around it, but I also like that they aren't that noticeable and something bigger might have been too obtrusive as this is just a small rectangle between multiple rooms. This was 1 light I think I actually did install on my own. Most people claim with these lights they were able to install on their own or easy installation but I disagree.
