Well, im sorry to say that the stool didn't function after i put it together. I pushed the lever and the seat went to its highest point snd wouldn't adjust down to the level i needed. This is the perfect solution for an entry door that butts up to a closet door-I didn't want to worry about the entry door opening too much and banging onto the closet door but couldn't have a door stop on the floor because that would impede opening the closet door.
