The assembly instructions don’t tell you how to insert the gold pieces, so I’m sharing the trick here. You won’t be able to push in the gold pieces with your fingers and the holes will seem too small, but the pieces will fit - you have to use a mallet. Tilt the piece and use your mallet to gently tap in one edge of the piece so that it lodges crookedly in the hole. We bought this set for our small Kitchen. We knew that we would have to assemble it once it arrived. So we pulled up the directions which were pretty clear. However, you definitely need more than the included allen wrench and recommended screw driver and hammer. We ended up needing a drill to get the screws in-otherwise we'd still be screwing in the screws! The Table was easy. However, our biggest issue was with the chairs. Every. Single. Chair. was uneven and wobbly. One more than another. We followed the instructions each and every time for each chair, and every single time we ended up with the same wobbly result. Not too big of a table, but definitely not a grand one. Solid affordable option for minimal style. Chairs are comfy and firm, also easy to put together. Built it by myself, about 1.5-2 hours, but could easily be done in under and hour if not distracted. Minor chipping in the corners.
