The LCD display has an steam icon that appears when the steam function is activated, hot water icon when the hot water function is activated, descaling alarm, coffee brewing temperature that displays the temperature once the machine is ready and the empty water tank alarm. There are three buttons under the LCD display: Left button is single cup function, the middle button has 2 functions. Short press which allows you to switch from steam to hot water, long press brings you into the setting menu. The right button is the double cup function. Coffee can be extracted in 2 different ways: 1. Using the preset functions available, the extraction will start and stop automatically when the set quantity is reached for single or double cup, it is possible to customize both lengths of the preset function. 2. Manually, by using the lever switch. To start the extraction, move the lever switch upward. Once you reach the desired quantity you can stop the coffee extraction by moving the lever downwards. In both cases, during the extraction the display will show the shot timer. Steam/hot water activation: Both steam and hot water are dispensed from the steam wand. To change from steam to hot water and vice versa the user can press the central button. The display will light up the dedicated icon once the thermoblock is at the set temperature. To deliver steam or hot water you can rotate the knob counterclockwise. To enter the settings menu press the steam/hot water selector for 5 seconds. Once in the menu you are able to change the language (EN-DE-IT-ES-FR), unit of measure for temperature (°C - °F), coffee temperature (194F - 212F), preinfusion (defines the duration1-5), steam intensity, (1-3) standby time (5, 10, 30, 60 minutes), Eco mode (on/off), water hardness level (1-3), descaling (on/off) and reset factory settings (yes/no). 15 bar passive cup warmer. It arrived just as Wayfair said. The box however had a gouge in the side of the box that went through. Luckily when we opened it up the coffee maker was not damaged. Setup was very easy. I have only brewed a k-cup coffee so far which was easy and delicious. Will be using the auto brew to a carafe of coffee tomorrow morning. I expect it to be just as delicious as the cup.
