These are only 200 watts, it makes them safe if you have questionable house wiring, most house wiring should be considered questionable, and energy efficient if you only need spot heating where it is needed. I love how easy these were to get out of box and hung and working. They don’t put out a ton of heat. I accidentally ordered two, but decided to use both. Small, but mighty! I used this in my front room because my pipes were frozen in the bathroom on that side of the house. I plugged the heater in, made sure it was safely away from any curtains or clutter, and turned it on all day while I was working in my office. A couple of hours later, it thawed out my pipes, and i didn't need to call my landlord about it! It's very safe. I'm scared of most space heaters, but this one is great! There's a tip over shutoff button on the bottom. So if it falls over onto a carpet, it will not start a fire on the synthetic fibers. It's also ceramic which is a plus.
