Great quality retro tile. Our home was built in 1940 and the primary bathroom has original tile almost identical to this one. We renovated the secondary bathroom and wanted it to look the same so this fit the requirement perfectly. The pattern is slightly larger than the original, but that’s not a problem at all because it still looks the same. It’s very high quality, easy to install with the mosaic webbing, and looks original to the house. The tile is beautiful! I ordered several boxes of the Carrera marble and realized that each box had a different grey hue to it. The guy who installed the tile started out installing one box at a time, I noticed one area started to look too dark from the rest so I asked if he could open all the boxes and nix the colors to get a more even variation. The real Crema Marfil is quarried near Alicante, Spain, and is technically a limestone. However, it is widely labeled as a Marble because it can be polished to a high shine. It has a subtle beige veined background and is an excellent material if you are looking for a gentle warm neutral color palette. Please beware of less expensive options on the market quarried often from Turkey, Indonesia, Egypt, or China as they have less desirable yellow, pink or red hues.

I sourced this in Noir for a shower floor, and it came out beautifully. The basketweave pattern adds just the right amount of visual interest while still feeling classic and grounded. It gives the space texture without competing with the rest of the design. The matte marble has a really nice, natural finish that reads elevated and not overly polished, which I appreciate from a design standpoint. The color variation in the Noir palette adds depth and keeps it from feeling flat, especially once installed.
