It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. The distressed beams are painted either black or white and have the edges sanded over and a brown stain/wax applied for a distressed look. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket. Corbels will increase the total height of the beam to 13". The corbels have been pre-drilled and include screws. You will need to attach the corbels to the beam upon receipt. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.

The Homestead mantel shelf is a beautiful transitional design that features elegant cove molding. The ample ten-inch shelf depth allows plenty of display room. Handcrafted from Asian hardwoods that take paint and stain beautifully. Mitered hanger board assembly included for easy installation. Light sanding and filling are recommended before paint or stain is applied.

The sofa looks great. The cushions are quite firm but we can always put a foam pad on it. The cords that make the tufts may be uncomfortable without a pad on top. As we were missing a few inches to the ceiling with the included chimney component, we ordered the longer version directly from the manufacturer. Our only issue with the product is that it “whistles” at its lower speeds and due to slightly inconsistent suction, the metal grills were vibrating against the lower horizontal frame. The Mantel looks like it does in the picture. I have a newly built house and I wanted to upgrade the fireplace from a builders grade to this beautiful mantel . It looks very nice. It really helped enhanced the look for my living room. There was a slight problem with some of the materials being damage(the surrounding pieces that goes with the mantel), although the package was delivered by a white glove carrier crew.
