It arrived nicely packed, but I took one star away as it did not come with the 2 inch wood screws needed to do its install! It also did not come with instructions for installation. This meant searching online for instructions and having to go get the screws needed for the install. We fell in love with this mantel. Our decor is light and curved, and the mantel that was present when we moved in was a painted white 2x4. So, after looking for something for 2 years, this popped up as new. It didn't have a lot of reviews, but I decided to take a chance. And I am glad we did! We ripped out a black piece of slate, and had a porcelain hearth built, and tile on the back wall behind where the hearth would go. The piece arrived very securely packaged, which is good, because it is HEAVY. You will need a couple of people to help you get it in. It was pretty simple to put together. The two sides attach securely to the top. there are a few other pieces of wood to ensure there are no gaps, and that it does attach securely to the wall. The curves are lovely and make this a unique piece. The quality of the wood is great. Solid. This looks like a very high quality mantel.
