When one exterior entry knob failed after a couple of years, Kwikset immediately sent out a replacement. I followed the enclosed instructions and the knob functions perfectly. With the Smartkey function I was able to easily rekey the knob to match my old key. No need to call a locksmith. Didn't even have to bother my husband to replace it! Love these things! The installation was kind of challenging. First of all, if you have door that are cover in metal, the hole for the lock will be too small. Second, the screws are not 2.5, they are 2 38 so they will be too short. We had to change couple things to make it work. Overall, the quality of the lock is good.
