The arms are nice and high giving something to lean against. I keep a king size bed pillow at each end. There’s a bit of a gap between the last slat on the upper bed and the arm. Previously I have only purchased rugs from Wayfair, which I have always loved. I had never purchased any furniture. I was looking for a daybed and found one that I liked, so I bought it. Really loved this bed. It's much bigger than I imagined but not in a bad way. It looks very nice and not cheap at all. The trundle was great. The only issue we run into is that when you pull the trundle out, it catches the area rug underneath. We have a ruggable type rug in that room though, so I'm sure it would be better on a stiffer rug. Great floor bed for my almost 2 year old! Very sturdy and is low to the ground so she can get on and off easily. We used a 6 inch mattress to keep everything low to the ground.
