However, the sliding barn door hardware is an issue — the track where the doors slide tends to fall out, which can be frustrating. Also, it’s not ideal for very small dogs. My 5 lb Chihuahua was able to escape, so I wouldn’t recommend it for tiny breeds unless you plan to reinforce it. Aside from those concerns, it’s an attractive and functional piece.. Anonymous. Good product. Too small for a large dog so don’t believe the product details about any of these for large dogs. Also the wood is very flimsy. Very helpful for carrying our 58 lbs. Labrador when she had a ruptured cervical disc at age 11 and couldn’t walk. The stretcher is very sturdily made with handles that are comfortable and easy to hold. The strap to hold your pet on worked well and gave us confidence that we weren’t going to hurt her. My husband and I could carry her (ages 69 and 75) out to the yard, to the car, into the vet. She doesn’t need it since her surgery but it’s very comforting to have it on hand, just in case. We bought this crate with the intention we would be painting it. The wood is actual wood but if you were keeping it white the paint seems more like a primer. Set up is time consuming (isn’t everything though) but it was easy follow. The wood top was two different shades of stained wood but since we painted ours it wasn’t an issue.
