Just what we were wanting to build. Saw these and they fit the space perfect! Added some wheels and handles and they look custom. My only complaint is the way they are built and how you lose space. This crate is perfect. The packaging protected the product during shipping. The instructions were easy to follow (not always the case with furniture). It took less than 30 minutes to build and it is solid, which is great because our dog is an escape artist! I was a little worried by the 1 star and 2 star reviews about the latching hardware not being good. PLEASE IGNORE THOSE! It is obvious that they missed an important step in the instructions regarding spring loaded latches for the inside of the left front gate. Assembly could have gone smoother. My drill was too big, my screw driver was too big. Some holes werent pre drilled and yet, by time I put it together (which I didnt realize I was going to have to do) I absolutely loved it. I really do love everything about this crate (so far). That is to say, I love the way it looks. I spent days looking at different furniture crates and had an aha moment when I found this one online. It was the perfect vibe for the aesthetic of my home. When it arrived I unpacked everything and inventoried all of the parts. Check. Then I read through the directions and it said it would take two people an hour to put it together. Uncheck. My dad and mom both came over to help. My dad is a carpenter and builder. It took us five hours and a lot of curse words to put it together. Was it worth it? At the time, no. But now that it's together, I'm glad we persevered. It really is a nice, sturdy piece. As for functionality? We'll see. I'm bringing an eight-week-old puppy home in a few weeks and imagine things will be pretty mild at first. The real test will be in a few months to see if the gates hold up. They aren't not sturdy, but they're also not affirmingly solid. I love how solid and sturdy the crate is. The wood does have a lot of very large knotholes on every side (not shown in the photos) but my main complaint is that I ordered the color “white” but when the item arrived it had no stain of any kind—it’s raw wood. I was expecting “white” to mean that a whitewashed or “pickled” stain was used instead of a dark finish like the other 2 options offered. This is a beautiful crate. Perfect size for my 15 pound dog. It's obviously so much nicer than a traditional metal crate. I was initially concerned that the lock would be too weak to keep the door closed, but it's great! It's a very secure lock. The crate door slides up and under the drawer, which saves on space.
