This thing is nearly perfect! We have three dogs that we kennel occasionally when we leave the house, and I was tired of looking at three wire kennels of different sizes spread throughout the house. I decided to splurge on this 95" furniture-style kennel console, and it's absolutely everything I wanted it to be! It's STURDY. The assembly instructions were easy to follow, and assembly wasn't nearly as daunting a task as I thought it was going to be. Ours did arrive with a pretty nasty scratch/scuff on one of the bottom boards (thanks to a pretty big gash in the box from shipping), but it's covered by a kennel pad/dog bed, so not visible and not worth fussing over. This crate is perfect. The packaging protected the product during shipping. The instructions were easy to follow (not always the case with furniture). It took less than 30 minutes to build and it is solid, which is great because our dog is an escape artist! I was a little worried by the 1 star and 2 star reviews about the latching hardware not being good. PLEASE IGNORE THOSE! It is obvious that they missed an important step in the instructions regarding spring loaded latches for the inside of the left front gate. This is a beautiful crate. Perfect size for my 15 pound dog. It's obviously so much nicer than a traditional metal crate. I was initially concerned that the lock would be too weak to keep the door closed, but it's great! It's a very secure lock. The crate door slides up and under the drawer, which saves on space. This piece is much sturdier and heavier than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise once it was fully assembled. The overall quality feels solid and stable, and it definitely does not come across as flimsy or cheaply made. That said, the assembly process was far more difficult than it should have been. The instructions were not very clear, and none of the parts were labeled, which made the setup frustrating and time consuming. It ended up taking close to three hours to put together because of all the guesswork involved. One corner on the top section also did not line up perfectly, so that particular screw could not be tightened completely. Thankfully, it still seems stable overall, but the alignment issue was disappointing considering the amount of effort required to assemble it. Another thing buyers should know is that this item is extremely large once completed. I would strongly recommend assembling it inside the room where it will be used, because moving it afterward may be difficult. I honestly was not sure it would even fit through the doorway after assembly. Despite the frustrating setup process, the finished product itself is nice and feels durable.. Mike. Gagetown, MI.
