Fairly easy to build. I did it all on my own, took about 12hrs however I took several breaks and I was building 2 of these desks. Everything was labeled VERY well and instructions were easy to follow (my only complaint was that in 2 sections it makes a point to say particular holes are “facing out”, but the illustration has them facing in). This is a good looking table but 4 stars because the top of the table is 2 pieces and the wood design doesn’t match (see pictures). I was worried because some reviews describe this as a child's desk. I bought the 63" version, and it's very nice as a simple adult-sized desk. The cloth drawers are plenty nice (and especially well suited to a craft room). I had no difficulty assembling this item mostly by myself, and I am an older woman with a physical disability (in my fifties with a movement disorder). I only needed a second person's help for turning the whole unit upright after assembly. The instructions are honestly the best I've ever encountered for DIY furniture, quite clear and easy to follow. The hardware is immaculately laid out in labeled pouches (with a spare of each main screw type included). I'm delighted with this product. It is a narrow desk, yet can easily accommodate a 32" computer monitor and keyboard. If you have cats, be aware that they can quickly tear apart the end-mounted book/magazine holder (as I found out on day one!) and fabric-sided drawers. We have this little nook that needed something, and a space and a desk for my daughter and her graphic design work works out perfectly. I was really proud because she put it together herself, and while she felt frustrated as I was monitoring her putting it together, it seemed...not easy, but not complicated- somewhere right in the middle. Some of the boards didnt seem to lineup exactly perfectly at first, but in the end, with careful reading of the directions, it all worked out.
