My 20-year old shower was leaking out the shower head even after replacing the mixer cap (rotating valve). Then I bought this, the pressure balancing unit (PBU) and after replacing both, there are no leaks and it works better than new. Kohler will say that this PBU is not the solution to a leaky shower head, but it was for me. Watch the Kohler installation video and buy both this PBU and the temperature regulator and you will be good as new. The parts change out quickly and easily with simple tools. I had a 2011 Delta hand-held 2.0 gpm shower head. I have only had one shower with this new shower head, and I am very enthusiastic about it. Even though it has the same gpm as the old shower head, the experience is markedly different. I had it on the regular spray setting and felt very stimulated and awake afterwards.
