I needed a long light for my bathroom vanity. This is very beautiful and functional. I hung it with the bulbs facing down to prevent dust from gathering in it and to add more light. The shades are a very brittle glass. One of them was broken when it was delivered but was replaced right away. It probably wouldn't be safe in an area where kids might be throwing something around. Just as pictured but packaged so poorly that the one of the four glass globes was shattered upon delivery. Wayfair was great with sending me an entire new fixture (and let me keep the old one too) but that one also arrived with a shattered light globe.
