Using the best natural resources in Portugal, COSTA NOVA products are made in a single firing system heated up to 1180 degrees C (2160 degrees F) which creates a unique ceramic body with a special bonding between the clay and the glazed surface. This original formula explains why our stoneware is so durable and resistant to both thermal and mechanical shocks. Sea Blue

The Mallorca collection captures the natural landscape of the famous Mediterranean island, a haven of turquoise waters, soft golden sands, and impressive cliffs. Mallorca shares its DNA with our Eivissa collection, featuring reactive glazes of sand-beige and sea-blue patterns. Yet, its soft and scalloped edges suggest a more exquisite look. Combine both shapes for a casual and eclectic look. Due to the reactive glazes, the blended patterns of sand beige and sea blue will vary slightly, making each piece one-of-a-kind.

Silvina is a collection that tells a story. It begins with its name, honoring the grandmother of COSTA NOVA’s founder and recognizing Portuguese heritage, as the name Silvina brings to mind tradition. Inspired by 16th-century Palissy ceramics, where texture is prominent, this collection emerges as a sensory experience for the table, in both dinnerware and serveware pieces. Ideal for rustic settings, its white glossy glaze also works beautifully to contrast with more modern or sophisticated spaces.

The Pearl collection was inspired by the richness of 18th and 19th-century European ceramics. The round shapes, beautifully embossed with a beaded edge were reinvented to create a new classic concept, bringing a touch of European traditional elegance to the table that will never go out of style.

Sardegna expands to a new decoration, with an Italian floral motif. The existing white glaze can now be complemented with this new floral pattern inspired by the picturesque landscapes of Italy. Crafted with the same care and attention to detail, the new pattern now adorns the existing rustic, hand-finished rim and speckled white glaze.

The warm breeze that blows from the east and cascades along the Algarve coast with fruity aromas and the fresh flavors of Ria Formosa was the inspiration for this collection. The blended white and blue glazes and organic shapes transport us to the intricate landscape of lagoons, canals, salt works, and sandy beaches stretching across deserted islands. This collection adds light to every gathering and turns any table into a memorable experience.

This was an ‘Open Box’ item. The plates are beautiful. The reason for 1 star is that the person who packed and shipped this open box item of 5 plates did not use the correct packing material for the plates. 4 of the 5 were shattered, and Perigold did allow me to return. I’m just very disappointed that someone didn’t do their job. This is why prices go up because lazy employees cost companies money… then it gets passed down to the consumer.
