We had this system installed in our remodeled bathroom in September 2023. For the most part, it has worked beautifully and we've been ecstatic with it. However, it is not without issues. It has to be re-paired with Amazon Alexa every 3 months, unlike every other Alexa skill out there. Why? Who knows. Because Kohler says so, I guess. Lately it has been needing to be re-paired every 2 weeks (today was the 3rd time). Also today it said there's a firmware update, but when I go to update I get a message that the shower is offline and I need to check the wifi connection. How? There's no wifi settings on the shower setup or in the app, or in my Kohler account anywhere. There is an Advanced/Locked section of settings that requires a PIN on the in-shower control and I have no idea what the PIN is or how to find it; we didn't set it and we can't get into these settings. Fantastic, but a few things to know. It’s very cost effective to buy your own durable brand like this, and pay an electrician to install it, but you need a little patience. Most of the struggle was finding a qualified HVAC professional to install a unit they couldn’t markup because they didn't sell it to you. Additionally, some requested permits. As long as you’re not in a rush, or handy enough to install yourself including the breaker, this is a fantastic purchase. Living in Florida, the self cleaning feature is intended to reduce mold. I haven’t had to do that yet, but a great function. The remote has a lot of features including being able to adjust the temperature on each of the inside heads separately. I have already googled a replacement remote, because I lose everything. If you aren’t used to ductless AC, you’ll just want to locate the manual override on the inside unit heads, or use the app on your phone. The SEER2 rating is high for a unit like this, so I’m hoping it helps with my electric bill.
