We felt it incredibly important to find a source for reclaimed teak so we could recycle it with a new purpose. We wanted to make sure our sourcing eliminated any further impact on the natural forests, so we reclaim and recycle teak that comes from buildings demolished for modernization. Local village women weave the teak pieces from home, at their convenience, which allows them to look after children and elderly parents while earning additional income to improve their family’s lifestyle. Product is manufactured in 40' rolls of 2, 3, or 4 foot widths and we cut them to order. Once you get the mat, if it is too big, it is easy to cut down the length of the mat. Soft vinyl ribbons joining the threads are easy to cut through with a utility knife. However if you wish to cut down the width of the mat - this may be a bit of a challenge as you will need to use a saw.
