Went from carpet to hardwood flooring. Quickly determined I needed rugs to tie the look together. Hard to know what to pick when shopping on line. I relied a lot on the reviews. Love this rug (and matching runner). This rug is soft and thick enough so you don’t need a pad under it, especially if you have furniture sitting on it. Love the contrast with the black and cream. This is a really beautiful wool rug that is currently selling for almost three times as much under another brand. It is all that I hoped for. I know it is hard shopping for neutral colored rugs online, so I included a photo with a neutral undertone wheel in natural light for reference. The recessed parts of the rug have a slight green-beige cast, and the raised parts are a very light taupey cream variegated with a pink beige that looks like a light tint of a maroon brown in the darkest parts. I think it coordinates well with natural linen color and unbleached cotton as well as cool sandy tans or mocha and cocoa colored neutrals. It might look dirty next to yellowy creams or light tints of cool blue grays. I included a photo with a natural straw mat and a bamboo box to show how it would look next to light wood with a more yellow cast.
