The gas range is very powerful, the iron grill is sturdy and offers a flat top (no pot or pan wiggling!) for the entire range. This feature is helpful in a small kitchen with limited counter space. Other reviewers are correct when saying the temperature dial needs to be set above the needed temp to get a correct preheat. Remedy with a hanging oven thermometer. Do not, I repeat, Do not get the ‘GE Installation’ service with this appliance. Even if you buy an installation kit. The technician will come in, excuse in hand, and will tell you that any dust, or light green on the gas pipe disallows them to service the installation. (When plumbers test for gas leaks upon installation they spray a little water on the line, leading to a light green) Be ready with your own plumber on the day of delivery. It's hard to find a replacement for a gas downdraft cooktop, but this one is great! Burners are stronger than previous cooktop (not GE). Downdraft works much better, doesn't pull flames from burners. The item was perfect. My dealings on the phone with wayfair were 100%. I ordered 3 different refrigerators 3 different times. The first 2 were cancelled days later because they were "out of stock", although they were in stock when I ordered them. Finally, the third one shipped and was scheduled for delivery on Tuesday. Monday evening about 7PM I received a recorded message telling me it would be delivered between 7AM and 11AM. I was told I would get a 30 minute warning text before it arrived. At 7:15AM I got a call from my neighbor that a delivery truck was backing in to my driveway. No warning call or text. I had to scramble to get my neighbor there to organize everything and sign the paperwork. The drivers did a great job getting things done. I have no problem with them. Wayfair, as I said, went above and beyond for me. Whoever was supposed to notify me dropped the ball. And GE, selling me 3 refrigerators while 2 of them were out of stock, failed miserably.. Michael.
