The good: We bought the 14x10 and it is heavy duty. I haven't fixed it to my deck yet, but I doubt that would even be necessary because it's heavy and sturdy. It gets 4 stars because I'm confident it will serve its purpose for a long time. The bad: I can't give it 5 stars because assembly was difficult, even with 2 people in their 30s. It took us a total of around 10-12 hours over a few days. When assembling the large/heavy support beams, you will probably need to have some kind of supporting table or shelf to lean them on (or have a person hold a large piece while someone affixes it to another) to prevent bending. You'll also need at least one step ladder and a Phillips head screwdriver, which the description fails to mention and isn't included. I ordered two of these and placed them sideways so that I could have a 16 wide and 24 feet long covered area. It definitely took four people about four hours to put up the first one but second one went a lot smoother after figuring out all the louvers. I’ve had it up for about a month so far with some pretty strong winds and so far so good. We did have a decent rain and it kept everything dry when I closed the louvers but then we had a torrential rain and it was just way too much for the small areas to hold so it definitely leaked in a few spots. LOVE THIS PERGOLA - We needed something that kept the sun off our outdoor kitchen in central Florida. We lifted it by about 18 inches so it would be above our door by using flower boxes and filled with concrete. It actually makes the pergola more comfortable by raising it. The gutters work well in the heavy down pours known in Florida. The higher wind tolerance was a huge selling point for us. We couldnt be happier. The Solarium is wonderful. Took us two weekends to put together. We were not in a rush. Instructions were well written and easy to follow. This is a large Gazebo, just what I dreamed of having! What is a huge selling point is the metal roofing that can hold a lot of snow. We had lots of help putting this up, just make sure your space is large enough if you get one this long.
