Mine actually arrived with a different frame than what I was expecting from the listing photos, so I was unsure at first. But once I got it leaned up and styled, I completely changed my mind. The frame I received has a softer, more textured look in person that actually works really well with my space and gives it more character. The artwork itself is beautiful — very neutral, calming, and easy to work into a room without overpowering everything else. It has that high-end abstract look that makes a space feel more finished and layered. Packaging was great and everything arrived in perfect condition. Summers Greenery 1 is reminiscent of American Abstract Expressionist painter Helen Frankenthaler who was known for her major contributions to the history of postwar American painting. She developed her distinctive and innovative "soak-stain" technique in the early 1950s by pouring thinned oil paint directly onto a raw, unprimed canvas laid on the ground, allowing the colors to soak into the fabric. Summers Greenery 1, a large-scale, non-representational work on canvas, carries on that method by applying thinned layers of color to achieve both translucency and saturation. A wide swathe of thin paint extends across the top of the painting and has been allowed to drip down the canvas, another hallmark of Abstract Expressionism. Muted tones and pastels in sage, alabaster, and khaki, with splashes of cerulean and mustard, bring forward a contemplative mood in this original work of art on canvas.
